Abstract
[Abstract] The purpose of this study is to analyze the reliability of a proposed optimal non-periodic inspection schedule for aircraft. A second goal of this paper is to estimate values of uncertain parameters from field data collected during in-service inspections for aircraft structural elements. These functions are applied to a hybrid Bayesian analysis code (HYBAC) that is a combination of a conventional Bayesian method and fuzzified Bayesian analysis. Numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of fuzzy information to show non-periodic inspection can ensure continuing aircraft structural integrity.
