Abstract
For clinical trials involving (a treatment-wise) incomplete block design and a surrogate variable as a substitute for the primary endpoint, recovery of interblock information in nonparametric analysis of covariance models based on a suitable aligned rank statistics is explored through a combined inference scheme based on intra as well as interblock rank statistics incorporating both the surrogate replicates and the validation samples. Related nonparametrics are presented in detail.
