Abstract

A shell-model calculation in the full space of ħω excitations with A particles in the oscillator levels 1s, lp, 1d, 2s provides a unified description of the low-energy spectra of non-normal parity and the photo absorption cross sections for A = 14 and 13 nuclei, using Cohen-Kurath and Gillet interactions. Good agreement with experimental data is obtained. The structure of electric dipole resonances is discussed.
