Abstract

It is shown that the adsorption, solubility, and diffusion coefficient of water molecules in metaloxide cuprate YBa2Cu3O7 − δ are nonmonotonic functions of the oxygen content. The behavior of these quantities is determined by the superposition of two processes: the change in the charge state of atoms in intermediate layers and the electron density distribution between cuprate and intermediate layers upon filling of O1 positions by oxygen.
