Research Article| January 01 2019 Non-Merging Streams: The Continuing Problem of Race in American Methodism Ian B. Straker Ian B. Straker IAN B. STRAKER is a clergy member of the New York Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church. He earned a B.A. in Afro-American Studies at Yale University and an M.Div. from the Yale Divinity School. He pastored churches in New York before beginning doctoral studies in American Religious History in the Department of Religion at Princeton University. He is currently completing a full length biography of the early Methodist Circuit Rider, Freeborn Garrettson.
