Abstract

Analysis of the laws of cyclic inelastic deformation of metals and alloys shows that the inelastic strain and the energy of inelastic deformation per cycle can be used as a characteristic of nonlocalized fatigue damage. We have analyzed the interrelation between the general laws of fatigue fracture of metals and alloys and the laws of inelastic deformation. We also consider the strain and energy criteria of fatigue fracture taking the laws of nonlocalized fatigue damage into account.
