Abstract

On the basis of the nonlocal electron kinetics the densities of radiating 2p53p neon atoms were calculated in different phases of S- and P-striations in dc discharge in neon. The phases in which either direct or stepwise excitation processes prevail are shown. The absolute intensities of the spectral lines in transitions from 2p53p to 2p53s were measured in S- and P-striations in dc discharge in neon with high spatial and temporal resolution. The comparison of the results of the calculations and experiments was carried out for different levels of the system 2p53p. The correspondence is quantitative for some levels and qualitative for other levels. The model well describes the striation phase profiles of the total intensity of the radiation in transitions from 2p53p to 2p53s.
