Abstract

A review is given of both experimental and theoretical aspects of coherent nonlinear effects in the whistler-mode interactions in the magnetosphere. Among various nonlinear wave-wave and wave-particle interactions in the magnetosphere, the whistler-mode interaction appears to be one of the most exciting phenomena which have been observed in space plasmas but not in laboratory plasmas. The present review may be far from complete since much of the research, both theoretical and experimental, is still in progress.
