Abstract

The influence of large amplitudes on the flexural vibrations of elastically restrained rectangular orthotropic plates is considered in this paper. The basic equations used are those due to Von Karman. Galerkin's averaging technique is used to reduce the original equation to an ordinary nonlinear differential equation in modal function, the solution of which is given in terms of elliptic functions.
