Abstract

Switched-capacitor (SC) converter was initially introduced for low-power applications and monolithic integration. This paper proposed a novel step-down SC converter working in continuous conduction mode (CCM). It is convinced that the converter possesses higher efficiency. Simultaneously, the control method adopts a constant “on-time” for the switch that is less than the time constant T of charging circuit. The simulation results show that control strategy could reject external interference of the novel SC converter immediately by comparing with the conventional SC converter. The converter gets better power quality due to the low output voltage ripple. The conclusions can be made from simulation results that nonlinear variable frequency control method could improve dynamic response speed which enable the SC converter works in a wide range.
