Abstract

The nonlinear two-wave interaction in a medium endowed with a quasi-periodic structure is theoretically studied using a simple perturbation method, and the reflection coefficient of wave’s energy is numerically calculated in order to confirm the theoretical result that the reflection coefficient of one wave depends not only on its own amplitude but also on that of the other wave. We apply a method employed in the study of the propagation of nonlinear waves through a medium endowed with a periodic structure 1) to the present problem.
