Abstract
Are long-term deterministic sociospatial dynamics optimum? Can one find optimality criteria under which the dynamic equilibrium state of dynamic deterministic models could also be construed as best? These are the questions addressed in this paper, and the answers seem to be negative in the general case, at least for a number of optimization formulations examined.
