Abstract

Citrus assisted eco-friendly green synthesis of gold (Au) nanostructures (NSs) were prepared by Vitis (grapes) and Ananas comosus (pine apple) extracts. The UV–Vis absorption resonance peaks of grapes and pineapple Au NSs were observed at λmax = 558 nm and 572 nm respectively, these indicate the formation of gold (Au) nanostructures. The extracts of the citrus fruits acted as stabilize and ionizing agents to make the NSs. Spherical and triangle shapes of the nanostructures were confirmed by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), it is revealed that the diameter size of the grapes and pineapple synthesized nanostructures were 15 nm, 54 nm and 18 nm, 42 nm respectively. The quenching of the photoluminescence of the Au nanostructures at different concentrations of Eu(TTFA)3 and Sm(TTFA)3 complexes were observed at the excitation of 350 nm. The quenching of the luminescence were observed at particular concentration. The nonlinear optical (NLO) properties of Au NSs were studied by Z-scan setup with 800 nm laser.
