Abstract

The third harmonic generations (THG) responses of Disperse Orange 3 (DO3), Disperse Orange 25 (DO25), and Pigment Orange 43 (PO43) organic compounds were investigated by using the Maker fringes technique employing 30ps pulses of Nd:YAG laser at 1064nm. These measurements have been performed on thin films prepared by the spin-coating method. The third-order nonlinear susceptibility <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\chi^{(3)}$</tex> was calculated using the Kubodera and Kobayashi comparative model, based on the fact that the presented compounds have a high linear absorption of the generated third harmonic wavelength (355 nm) according to the absorption spectra. The comparison of the results shows that DO25 has the largest NLO effect compared to the other dyes.
