Abstract

In this chapter a number of multivariable non-linear control techniques will be discussed. They are based on physical process models, although they can also be used with empirical models. The first approach is non-linear model predictive control and non-linear quadratic DMC. The second technique is Generic Model Control, where a pre-defined trajectory is prescribed that has to be followed by the process output.
