Abstract

London penetration depth λ was investigated as a function of magnetic field H in YBa 2Cu 3O y and in Tl 2Ba 2CaCu 2O y . λ changes linearly in H at low temperatures, which is consistent with the nonlinear Meissner effect in unconventional superconductors. Together with the published data in Bi 2Sr 2CaCu 2O y , it is suggested that the order parameter of the double layered cuprates has nodes in k space.
