Abstract

A brief survey is made of the current research status of the theory of nonlinear infinite electrical networks. Special attention is paid to the computational methods of solving for currents and voltages and to how such networks arise as realizations of the finite-difference approximations of nonlinear partial differential equations with infinite domains. Various open problems are described.
