Abstract

We solve the classical Yang-Mills equations numerically for the evolution of the color fields in the flux-tube model for ultrarelativistic collisions. We show that nonlinear effects are small and decrease as the nuclei recede. This result can be understood in the limit of large background fields from an analytic study of the linearized equations.
