Abstract

The model tunnel-diode oscillator was built, in which the change of the tunnel diode I-V-characteristic because of heating of free charge carriers and the appearance of detected signal under the influence of external microwave signal is taken into account. Dynamics of the transition from self-oscillation mode through asynchronous oscillation mode to mode of the oscillation suppression at comparatively low levels of an external microwave signal power was described. It was shown that account of tunnel diode I-V-characteristic change under the influence of external microwave signal allows to describe adequately the effect of output power observed in experiments reduction and following destruction of self-oscillation in the tunnel-diode oscillator with the increase of external microwave signal power.
