Abstract
We investigate an unusual behavior of the parametric polaritonscattering in a semiconductor microcavity (MC) under a strong cwresonant excitation: The maximum of the scattered signal abovethe threshold of stimulated parametric scattering does not shiftalong the microcavity lower polariton branch with the change ofpump detuning or angle of incidence, but is fixed at normaldirection. We show that such a behavior can be modellednumerically by a system of Maxwell and nonlinear Schrödingerequations for cavity polaritons and explained via the competitionbetween the bistability of a driven nonlinear MC polariton andthe instabilities of parametric polariton-polariton scattering.
