Abstract

This book examines some fundamental modern control problems of nonlinear systems. The book is organized into eight chapters and includes the following topics: basic concepts and background material; policy iterations and nonlinear state feedback control; and the solution of the Hamilton-Jacobi-Isaacs (HJI) equation for zero-sum games in continuous-time and discrete-time systems. The book is very well written. The topics chosen are all fundamental control problems and are treated in depth. The book is particularly a good text for a graduate or advanced undergraduate course.
