Abstract
A beam-splitter ring-mirror configuration employing a Kerr-like nonlinear medium, that is, a nonlinear antiresonant ring interferometer, is proposed for several optical functional devices. The basic idea behind the configuration is derived from the formation of a nonlinear refractive-index grating in a Kerr-like medium inside the unbalanced ring.
