Abstract

As a new structural material, FRP (fiber reinforced plastics) features light weight, high strength, corrosion resistance, etc., and have a bright future when used for a new type of pre stressing tendon in engineering structures. The horizontal shear strength of FRP tendon is relatively low, which will affect the shear strength of concrete beams pre-stressed with FRP tendons. This paper carried out nonlinear analysis of the shear behavior of concrete beams pre-stressed with FRP tendons based on ANSYS software, the effect of various parameters on shear behavior were detailed discussed. The results of finite element analysis showed that nonlinear analysis were in good accordance with the experimental results, which can well simulate the shear behavior of pre-stressed concrete beams with FRP tendons.
