Abstract
The relativistic mean-field equations for finite nuclei, including a nonlinear σσ interaction, are solved in a discretized representation space separated into its positive and negative energy sectors. We show in particular how a nonlinear σσ interaction acts on nuclear saturation, decreases the nuclear incompressibility and decouples the Dirac negative energy sector from the solutions.
