Abstract

We report a study on the non-isothermal nucleation and growth of embryoes on a substrate from the vapor phase. The non-isothermal nucleation and growth of clusters is fully studied. The characteristic times of growth for non-isothermal growth are derived explicitely and will be useful in the examination of the critical supersaturation concept, the non-critical supersaturation for the onset of condensation on a substrate at high temperature and the critical behavior in heterogeneous nucleation at high substrate temperature.
