Abstract
In this paper, a novel non-isolated high gain DC-DC converter is proposed. The presented high gain converter is synthesized from a basic two-phase interleaved boost converter (IBC) which uses coupled inductors (CIs) and voltage lift capacitor. Voltage multiplier cells (VMCs) are connected to enhance the voltage obtained at the primary side of the CIs. At the secondary side, voltage doubler is employed. The overall voltage gain is obtained by cascading the outputs obtained from the primary and the secondary side of the CIs. Since the voltage gain is extended by employing hybrid combinations of gain extension mechanisms, the voltage stress on the switches and diodes are reduced. Moreover, due to the IBC in Stage 1, the current ripple content at the input side is reduced. To validate the proposed concept, simulation results are presented for a 1SV to 380V, 450W converter operating under open and closed-loop conditions.
