Abstract

Noninvasive micro-test technology (NMT) is a novel technology to investigate the influx and/or efflux rate, direction, and concentration of selected ions and molecules in a microenvironment surrounding living cells or intact organisms. NMT measures and records the spatial electric potential differences in liquid media-surrounded living cells, tissues, and small organisms. Measurements are taken by a vibrating selective and/or specific flux sensor, combined with computerized algorithm to reveal ionic or molecular exchanges in the microenvironment with high sensitivity.
