Abstract

We discuss nonexponential relaxation in spin glasses and glasses above the ordering temperature ${T}_{g}$ in terms of the morphology of the set of available states in configuration space. Data from simulations on Ising spin glasses and from experiments on a variety of real glassy systems (spin glasses, a polymer, a molten salt, an organic liquid, and an ionic conductor) show behavior very similar to that suggested by the model.
