Abstract

The characteristic properties of the energy transfer from an absorbed light quantum to a lattice in amorphous solids are considered. These properties are connected with the presence of medium-range order and non-thermal vibration spectrum of phonons arising under nonradiative photoelectron recombination. It is shown that effective microregion temperature can be much higher than that obtained on a basis of elementary evaluation with a heat capacity C = 3 NK.
