Abstract

AbstractIn this final section of the Lamp, Rogben makes a case for the fact that all duality, even the dualistic notions that he has used to structure all previous discussions, are unreal. While perhaps necessary for making progress on the spiritual path, they are, in actuality, “without foundation.” The Buddha, he states, taught a truth that is one, unitary and nondual. It may appear that individuals that follow the Buddhist path are making progress through defined stages, but in actuality enlightenment—the unitary truth—has always been present. There is therefore nothing to really be done or practiced, and no path through which one progresses.
