Abstract

In this paper, I present an effective noncontact technique for the measurement of human hand motion with wireless portable motion detection sensors; this technique allows the detection of the subject's hand movements. This method involves the measurement of the current generated due to the difference in the capacitance between the subject's hand and the measurement electrodes in the motion detection sensor. The two motion detection sensors are capable of detecting the direction of the subject's hand movement by measuring the time difference of the peak of the electrostatic induction current. This technique allows us to recognize the direction of the hand movement with respect to the motion detection sensors under perfect noncontact conditions.
