Abstract
We investigate the BPSsoliton solutions of U(N)Chern–Simons gauge theory coupled to ascalar field in a noncommutative plane. With ascalar field in the fundamental representation, weshow that the BPS equation becomes that of theAbelian Chern–Simons theory in the unitarygauge. We also find a class of particularsolutions for the BPS equation with a scalar fieldin the adjoint representation.
