Abstract

A non-coherent impulse radio ultra-wideband (IRUWB) receiver for wireless body area network (WBAN) system is proposed in this paper. Code-multiplexed transmitted reference (CM-TR) scheme has been considered as the basis for signaling scheme and a novel recursive averaging process is applied to improve the error performance. The performance of the proposed scheme is evaluated with WBAN channel model (CM). The performance is compared with the conventional CM-TR receiver in terms of un-coded bit error rate (BER). Simulation results show that the proposed scheme improves the BER performance considerably with CM4.
