Abstract

The effect of nonlinear high power amplifiers (HPA) on the non-coherent detection algorithm was investigated for orthogonal space-time coded multi-level continuous phase modulation (OST-MCPM) transmission systems of two transmit antennas. The block-wise error probability (BWEP) performance of this non-coherent detection algorithm with linear and nonlinear HPA was analyzed. And the bit error rate (BER) performance was simulated and compared with each other over Rician fading channels. Both the theoretical analysis and the MATLAB simulation results show that the BER performance is almost the same with linear and nonlinear HPA over Rician fading channels with different rice factors.
