Abstract

NiL2 and PdL2 are the first metal dioximates possessing layered polymer structures. Such packing leads to an effective exchange interaction between N·−O groups through the diamagnetic metal ion. The increase in the M−O·− distance decreases the superexchange in the N·−O···M···O·−N exchange clusters.
