Abstract

The paper analyzes the characteristics of the activities of nonbanking settlement credit organizations (NBSCOs) in Russia, their place on the domestic competitive banking market. An alternative approach to the assessment of their basic operations as subjects of competition in the segment of cash management, including the analysis of cash and settlement activity. The technique allows one to identify NBSCOs that may be involved in illegal banking operations. A study of all Russian NBSCOs was conducted in the empirically obtained range, the main problems were identified, the NBSCO institute was developed, and its possible impact on the competitive banking market was assessed.
