Abstract
We successfully treated two cases of intra-atrial foreign bodies using the basket catheter technique without invasive operations. In both cases, an intravenous hyperalimentation catheter was accidentally broken during insertion or exchange. Through the femoral vein, an FG-17k basket catheter (Olympus Co., Ldt.) was inserted into the right atrium and the fragment was picked up in a few minutes without any complications. This method is a treatment of choice for intravascular foreign bodies.
