Abstract

In this paper we consider the shape-from-motion problem for objects in 3-space that undergo isometric motions. Assuming we know the shape of an object before an isometric motion, we show that we can use before and after monocular images to obtain arbitrarily good approximations to both shape and motion parameters. We show that the necessary computations can all be made in closed form, and we present results obtained by implementing our method for real images.
