Abstract

Non-puerperal inversion of the uterus occurs most frequently in the older age group in contrast to puerperal inversions. The tumor-produced variety has been reported associated with submucous fibroids, endometrial carcinoma or sarcoma of the uterus. The diagnosis should be clear although it is seldom made pre-operatively. An extraordinary example of this condition associated with sarcoma of the uterus is presented with the technic of total abdominal hysterectomy used in the presence of inversion.
