Non-Monotonicity of Temporal Recognition of Brief Duration

Abstract

Bow-shaped curves were obtained for correct judgments of five brief durations, regardless of whether judgment was of durations themselves or of the apparent brightness of the stimulus. The mechanism of subjective time was shown not to retain the directionality inherent in objective time.
