Abstract

The paper is concerned with the solution of non-linear damping behaviour of wood bridges subjected to traffic and wind forcing. The development of reliable and efficient techniques for the numerical handling of non-linear vibrations of wood bridges is emphasized. Viscoelastic material behaviour is considered theoretically, numerically and experimentally. Illustrative numerical and experimental verifications are presented.
