Abstract

Background: The increase in strength of myocardial contraction with higher heart rates (HRs) is known as positive FFR. To assess the myocardial contraction, Isovolumic Myocardial Acceleration (IVA) is determined by tissue doppler echocardiography. We tested the hypothesis that parameters of the intracardiac impedance signal (IZ) measured during ventricular systole by an implanted pacemaker (PM) (Inos, Biotronik, Germany) would correlate positive with the IVA, potentially allowing non-invasive evaluation of FFR by means of PMs.
