Abstract

The phenomenological coefficients for the flows of interstitial cationsi and electronse are analyzed. Three independent phenomenological coefficientsLii,Lie, andLee are related to the diffusion coefficient of interstitial cationsDi, the transport numberti (or electric mobilityui), and the specific electric conductivityk. The fourth coefficientLi*i (describing the cross effect between cationsi* labelled in the self diffusion and unlabelled ones), connected with the effective correlation factorfeff, is related toDi,ti,ki and the tracer diffusion coefficientDi*. The generalized Nernst-Einstein relations, in which besides the electric charge also appears the electric charge of transportei*, are presented.
