Abstract
We provide an elementary but explicit description of the non-embeddable thick polar spaces introduced by Jacques Tits. These polar spaces are related to algebraic groups of absolute type E7 and Tits index E 28 7,3. Our approach includes all polar spaces of rank 3 related to a quadratic alternative division algebra.
