Abstract

Idiopathic non-cirrhotic portal hypertension is a rare diagnosis caused by an unknown etiology withelevated intrahepatic portal pressures in the absence of underlying liver disease. We present a uniquecase of a 45-year-old male with non cirrhotic gastropathy with duodenal oedema with spleenomegalywith MOD with ascitis with hypoalbunemia. There is limited treatment available as management isprimarily aimed toward preventing complications of the disease. This case highlights the need forfurther investigative research of this disease entity and its pathogenesis.
