Abstract

Background and Aims : In heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HeFH) phenotypic variability in subclinical atherosclerosis is observed. For instance, the absence of coronary artery calcium (CAC) accounts for 45% of HeFH subjects. The aim of this study was to investigate the prevalence and determinants of non-calcified coronary plaques in asymptomatic HeFH.
