Abstract

Introduction: The association between a state of hypercoagulability and neoplasia is well established in the literature. Non-Bacterial Thrombotic Endocarditis (NBTE), characterized by small sterile vegetations (accumulations of fibrin and platelets) deposited on the valvular leoflet, is a rare form of presentation, specially associated with an adenocarcinoma. Their exact prevalence is unknown because still today there is no good method for pre-mortem diagnosis.
