Abstract

The non-axisymmetric extrusion of viscous and viscoelastic liquids is investigated. An approximate model is derived by integrating exact three-dimensional equations of motion over the cross-section. Then the analytical solution of viscous extrusion of arbitrary cross-section is obtained. The axial velocity of viscous liquids is compared with the velocity of experimental data. It shows good agreement in the far field at downstream. Also, the result of cross-section of viscoelastic liquids is compared with the finite-element result. The difference is acceptable.
