Abstract
The density functional approach to a nuclear system with pi and rho coupling is framed. We also extend the Hohenberg-Kohn theorem and the self-consistent equations to the arbitrary gauge fields. Particularly, the binding energy of infinite nuclear matter within the nonlinear sigma model is calculated.
