Abstract
AbstractSwertia angustifolia is lectotypified. Complete synonymies are presented for each of its two recognized varieties: S. angustifolia var. angustifolia and S. angustifolia var. pulchella. Six heterotypic synonyms are lectotypified: Ophelia florida, S. angustifolia var. wallichiana, S. dielsiana, O. pratensis, O. pulchella var. minor, and S. pulchella var. elegans. Also, previously cited “holotypes” for O. porrigens, S. esquirolii, S. kachinensis and S. lacei are corrected to lectotypes. In particular, confusion that arose from the protologue of S. angustifolia var. wallichiana is discussed and resolved.
